There are a lot of new projects on the horizon that I am so excited to share with you! Two upcoming events have been accepted to ArtWeek Boston and this summer I'm producing the first ever Make Music Boston. Then, I'll be heading back to Sweden to tour in July. A lot of noise shall be made, no doubt about it!

Nordlig Vinter is a suite of compositions for percussion duo and iOS devices inspired by the arctic environment near Piteå, Sweden. Harshly cut field recordings recreate the dry, icy environment while minimal jazz inspired melodies on vibraphone and marimba evoke the quiet beauty of this unique place. Charles Martin (Canberra, Australia) and Maria Finkelmeier (Boston, Massachusetts) will take you on a journey to the arctic north through their performance and recounting of their years spent living in Northern Sweden. Held at the Scandinavian Cultural Center's Nordic Hall in Newton, MA on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 7pm. Click here for tickets!
Touch and Tone - Charles and Maria will end their 2014 performance series with a night of experimental percussion and iPad improvisations at Outpost 186 in Cambridge, MA. They'll be joined by another Aussie, Jeremy Barnett, and encourage audience participation. Check it out on May 5 @ 8pm at Outpost 186. $10 at the door.
This summer, Angela Shankar and Maria Finkelmeier of the Clone Duo will head back to Sweden! They'll join Anna Larson and Sanna Andersson of En Vokalist & En Cellist to give music entrepreneurship talks, write new music for their funky quartet, and perform a series of concerts along the west coast of the country.
Thanks for reading! One of the highlights of my winter season was giving a short TedX talk at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum as a Fenway "Wildcard" finalist! The topic was "GRIT" and it took a lot of it to turn my art into words! What a fun and educational experience!
